From E-Books to Apps

I remember going to the school library as a kid, and climbing over each other to get our hands on anything and everything to do with Spot.
There seemed to be about a thousand books, but they were in such high demand, especially the pop up books. I used to love lifting the flaps or pulling the tabs. That was as interactive as it got in my day (wow, am I feeling OLD or what?). We also used to wash our clothes on a washboard… Okay, I made that up.
I reminisce, because I stumbled upon the following advertisement for a Poky Little Puppy App.
I guess this is the next generation of e-books. I wonder if sliding your fingers across a smooth screen is as gratifying as pulling tabs and lifting flaps until they tear.
I hate to sound like an old fuddy-duddy, but I think not. Although I am going to get an e-reader soon and find out for myself!
