Excerpt from Me, My Shelf and I:
April 2009 – I started writing When the World was Flat (and we were in love).
Except it was not called that yet. I actually called it Teen Romance, which was definitely a working title. It was basically a description of the genre I was writing (this was before I decided it would be science fiction).
July 2010 – I finished When the World was Flat (and we were in love) – or so I thought!
In March 2010, I decided to take the plunge and took what I thought would be three months off work to finish my WIP, as there were not enough hours in the day to do all the editing and research, which included researching Einstein and String Theory.
The three months turned into seven months of freelancing (I work in communications) before I decided to go back to work part-time. During those seven months, I not only finished When the World was Flat (and we were in love), but I also got a literary agent!
